Endothelial Health Study

Novahue Cardio promotes healthy endothelial function, immune function, and reduces oxidative stress measures.1

This placebo-controlled randomized study on 126 male subjects measured endothelial function by reactive hyperemia peripheral arterial tonometry (RH-PAT), immune function by serum hs-CRP levels (among other markers), and oxidative stress by plasma superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity.

Clinical Study Cardio Chart

The study results showed statistically significant decreases in systolic blood pressure and hs-CRP serum concentrations.* They also showed a statistically significant increase in endothelial function.* Additionally, supplementation had beneficial effects on oxidative stress markers including increased plasma SOD activity.*

Postprandial Oxidized LDL Simulation

Simulated daily Ox-LDL status shows multiple meals can prolong the high Ox-LDL state.

The average American diet consists of a number of meals which are eaten less than 12 hours apart. We observed the effect of eating a second meal 6–8 hours after the first. As illustrated in the chart, spikes in oxidized LDL levels can be prolonged by multiple meals.

The natural spike in oxidized LDL that accompanies a meal does not typically decrease to baseline when a second meal is consumed within 12 hours.*

Based on this hypothesis, we conducted a placebo-controlled study that measured the length of the oxidized LDL spike after a first and then a second meal. The study revealed that NovaHue Cardio results in statistically significant decreases in oxidized LDL after the second meal as compared to a placebo (study results not yet published).*

Study participants were given a 800 calorie-meal and their blood was withdrawn every 60 minutes.

This graph reflects a specific timepoint with which blood was withdrawn. It also shows how the group that took Novahue Cardio* for 14 days prior to the meal had much lower Ox-LDL measurements compared to the group that took a placebo for 14 days prior to the meal.
